The idea of coming out with a premium edition isn’t particularly new. It’s a time tested and effective marketing technique, executed to boost the appeal of their models in the showroom; but to call it ‘premium plus’, surely Nissan has something up its sleeve with the introduction of the latest Nissan Navara PREMIUM PLUS.

What is new in the Navara PREMIUM PLUS is that Nissan has put a lot of thought into how safe, how useful, how versatile the SUV can be, with the convenience of Nissan Intelligent Mobility.

The Nissan Navara PREMIUM PLUS has safety at it’s core, Nissan has given it more features, in addition these safety features are even better.

A fine example of this is the fact that the Navara PREMIUM PLUS comes with seven SRS airbags. Ensuring not only safety and protection for you and your whole family, but also, and perhaps more importantly, the Navara PREMIUM PLUS offers owners peace of mind.

Increasing driver engagement and awareness, while limiting driver fatigue has become a key motivation for Nissan. Resulting in the creation of latest technological safety feature is the Intelligent Around View Monitor (i-AVM).

Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitor actually uses four different angled cameras to give the driver a 360 degree view of the vehicle to assist them with parking or manoeuvring around tight spots or tough terrains. These four cameras are located at the front, back and sides of the vehicle, which convert all the live video into a 360-degree surround view, as if you are looking down from the top of your Nissan vehicle.

Of course the Navara PREMIUM PLUS hasn’t done away with all that is old, some features that were highly prized have been retained. Features such as Push-Start Button, and Intelligent Key (i-Key) give any driver a quick and hassle free way to unlock and enter the vehicle hands free. Push the start button to start the vehicles engine and the driver is ready to go.

Inside is still the same finely crafted Zero-Gravity leather seats, Full Auto Air-Conditioning with Dual Zone Climatic Control and Rear Air-con vents that distributes cool air within the spacious cabin.

But what is nice is that the driver gets the latest Nissan Advanced Drive-Assist Display (best-in-class ADAD) 3D TFT 5-inch colour display that allows up-to 8-info-screen selection by operating the steering switches.

The Digital Speedometer screen is great because it displays a more accurate vehicle speed as well as having a very futuristic aesthetic. This is truly a new enhancement for any SUV.

Although the PREMIUM PLUS has no mechanical upgrades, it still comes fully loaded with the 2.5-litre Diesel 4 Cylinders In-Line, DOHC 16-Valve VGS Turbo Intercooler engine.

Plus, it is nice to have the 4x4 7-speed Automatic Transmission with Manual Mode and Shift-on-the-Fly system, because as a driver, you can switch between 2-Wheel to 4-Wheel Drive easily, making it easy to overcome any tough terrain the Navara might have to negotiate.

It is also nice to know that the Navara has a good ground clearance, allowing it to avoid scraping larger obstacles and debris on the road. Plus, it also makes passing through urban flash floods a breeze, preparing owners to manage the rainy season in comfort and style.

One of the unique features of Navara is the Rear Differential Locking (RDL), which gives any driver the off-road confidence and no-wheel-spin safety on different surfaces by manually locking the rear rotating wheels to work as a single unit.

Standard safety features includes Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist and Traction Control System.

The Vehicle Dynamic Control system helps improve 4x4 driving performance and safety, along with Active Brake Limited Slip , Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control.

When compared to other mid-sized SUVs on the market, the Navara PREMIUM PLUS offers value for money not seen before.

Luxury and reliability ensure that Nissan are on a good thing with the Nissan Navara PREMIUM PLUS.
