Another rip-roaring gameweek of the Cellcard Fantasy League was held over the long weekend with an exhilarating 3.4 goals scored on average in the 10 contested games.

Man City’s 6-0 spanking of Spurs yielded two top tallies for the Dream team, with Sergio Aguero surging even further ahead in the scoring charts with a double and assist to take home 15 points. The Argentinean striker now has 99 points for the season, a whole 20 points better than his nearest rival Aaron Ramsey of Arsenal.

However, Aguero awesome antics were upstaged by his team-mate Jesus Navas, who must’ve thought Christmas had come early at Eastlands on Sunday. The Spanish midfielder also netted twice and set up another to grab 19 points, just under half his points for the entire season.

Navas was picked by just 1.8 per cent of fantasy managers, so well done anyone that had the foresight to do so.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s inveterate talisman Frank Lampard was back in business with a brace for 16 points.

The weekly dogfight for Cellcard goodies was another close affair, with many cashing in on Aguero as captain for 30 points. Our winner, Kevin O’Reilly, was no exception with his team Heebie Jeebies putting the fright in the rest of the field on 97 points.

O’Reilly also made use of two brace-bagging frontmen, Romelu Lukaku of Everton and Olivier Giroud of Arsenal, for 13 points apiece.

He will collect a $20 phone voucher and T-shirt from sponsors Cellcard for his efforts.

Gameweek 13 fills out the upcoming weekend, with Tottenham’s home tie against Man United arguably the highest-profile clash.

In the Cellcard Fantasy Facebook page competition, the answer to the gameweek question of what would be the final score of the Man City v Tottenham match was 6-0, which unsurprisingly nobody guessed correctly.

Thus, the prize will carry over to next week’s question, which will now be a $20 phone voucher.
