The construction of a stadium built to international standards in Kampong Speu province is set to be completed in mid-2022 ahead of the Kingdom's hosting of the Southeast Asian Games and ASEAN Para Games scheduled for 2023.

The stadium is currently under construction on 4 hectares of land located in Tamol village of Chbarmon town. It was an initiative headed up by Kampong Speu lawmaker Hun Many and other Kampong Speu provincial leaders with financial support provided by the NagaWorld Kind Hearts foundation and other donors.

"[The stadium] is being constructed at a cost of more than $2 million financed by the NagaWorld Kind Hearts foundation. The construction is scheduled for completion in time for Cambodia to make use of it when the Kingdom hosts the Southeast Asian Games in 2023," Kampong Speu's provincial administration said in a press statement on December 18.
